Information for SZD-50-3 "Puchacz" users

Following the issuance of SIL-001/SZD/2026 and the subsequent publication of EASA SIB 2026-10, all SZD-50-3 "Puchacz" gliders equipped with unapproved main landing gear rubber shock absorbers must be withdrawn from service until approved replacements are installed.

Please be advised that, pending this installation, it is possible to apply to the aviation authority for a derogation under Article 71(1) of Regulation (EU) 2018/1139 of the European Parliament and of the Council. We have provided a template application for SZD-50-3 "Puchacz" gliders registered in Poland. Applications for derogation may be submitted to the aviation authorities of other European Union countries on a similar basis.

The holder of the SZD-50-3 "Puchacz" Type Certificate is actively pursuing the EASA approval process for the shock absorbers.
