AERO 2025 Electric Drives and Aircrafts

A sea of gliders stretches across the large Hall A1 at Aero 2025 in Friedrichshafen. Electrification is once again the theme of Hall A1. We are right in the middle of it - with two new electric projects and our four gliders for aerobatics, training and cross-country flying.

Self-launching training two-seater

Our new electrification concept for the SZD-54-3 PERKOZ-e-motion is the subject of much discussion with project engineer Dr. Elias Breunig of Breunig Aerospace. The PERKOZ will have a fixed pylon with a propeller on the fuselage near the center of gravity of the aircraft. The batteries are located in the wings. The propulsion system makes instant power available for the pilot. The system is easy to maintain as it has no folding mechanism with moving parts. The propulsion concept is designed for training in flight schools. 10 launches to pattern  altitude or 3500 m climb are possible on one battery charge, before the battery is recharged from 20% up to 80% in less than 60 minutes. The self-starter operates on 400V and has a liquid-cooled drive train for reliable performance. Spinning and aerobatics can still be trained. This is done by removing the pylon and the batteries from the wing.

The response from the community has been enthusiastic and positive. The important aviation press has picked up on our innovations. Lars Reinhold, editor-in-chief of "Aerokurier", visited us and published an online article in the gliding section "Aero-Nachlese" at www.aerokurier.de. Read his opinion about the project

"Allstar elektrifiziert den Perkoz" The magazine "Vol à Voile" with editor-in-chief Léonard Favre also stopped by.

ACROBATIC - SELF LAUNCH – CROSS-COUNTRY GLIDER - The SZD-54-2 PERKOZ Glider Presentation - AERO2025

Bernd Hager, Managing Director of Allstar PZL Glider, and Dr. Elias Breunig of "Breunig Aerospace" personally present the SZD-54-2 PERKOZ in the video. Bernd talks about the background and special features of the training two-seater and Elias introduces the electric concept of the SZD-54-3 PERKOZ-e-motion. We owe this personal and direct video from the exhibition stand to Thomas Kränzlein, who was at the Aero 2025 in hall A1 for his YouTube channel Aviation Bloom.

Get on board and fly electric!

You can take a seat in the prototype of the SZD-55-2-NEXUS-e-motion with electric drive. We display the SZD-55 standard class glider with the Allstar-e-motion electric sustainer, which was developed in collaboration with Breunig Aerospace. The glider will complete its final test flights for certification this summer. In the course of integrating the electric drive, the SZD-55-2 model was revised and further improved, e.g. with enlarged ailerons and winglets.

You can fly the electric motor glider in the flight simulator. With the Super Dimona, Breunig Aerospace presents a concept study for the conversion of touring motor gliders to electric propulsion. The concept envisages an STC-capable (Supplemental Type Certificate) “drop-in” drive train for HK36 and possibly also other TMGs. The fuel tanks and the combustion engine are replaced by the electric drive, whereby the weights and the center of gravity remain identical.

Transition glider

We are showing the fuselage of the SZD-51-1 JUNIOR to accompany the recent "Pilots' Report" in the important gliding magazine "Vol à Voile". In the article, Benoit Lion describes the Junior as "an excellent transitional glider between a two-seater training glider and a standard class glider". The full flight report on this special club glider can be found in issue N°227 November/December 2024.

16,5 meter wingspan for cross-country flight

This time, our SZD-59-1 ACRO aerobatic glider stretches its long wings with a 16.5 meter wingspan over the stand. The third interchangeable wing tip with winglet for the ACRO is currently undergoing certification and will turn the aerobatic glider into a cross-country aircraft.

We are looking forward to the next direct exchange in 2027 at the AERO in Friedrichshafen!
